PVNC Password Reset Guide

When You May Be Prompted for a Password Reset

  • First Logon: During your initial login to the board network.
  • Security Event: As a precautionary measure following a security incident.

 

 

Forced Password Resets

  • Chromebook Login: A password reset may be required when logging into your Chromebook if your account has been flagged for a password change or it is your first time logging in with your account.
  • Board Application Login: You might be prompted to reset your password when accessing board applications like email or Edsembli if your account has been flagged for a password change or it is your first time logging in with your account.

Manual Password Reset

  • Cpass Portal: Access the CPASS self-service password reset portal at Cpass.Pvnccdsb.on.ca.
    • Register:  You must first register for this service before you can use it to reset your password.
    • Reset Instructions: Detailed instructions on using the reset portal are available here.
    • Internal Network Only: The PVNC Password reset portal is only accessible from the school network

Password Requirements

  • Minimum Length: Passwords must be at least 10 characters long.
  • No Reuse: You cannot reuse a previously used password.
  • Personal Information: Passwords must not include your first name, last name, or username
  • Having your name in the password will cause the password reset to fail

Remember: Maintaining strong and unique passwords is crucial for protecting your account and sensitive information. Avoid using easily guessable information or reusing passwords across multiple platforms.
