Teachers, Principals and Vice-Principals have the ability to reset a student’s password. Student
usernames/logins are the first 4 letters of the last name, followed by the first four letters of the
first name and a randomly generated 2 digit number added to the end. We strip out all
non-alphanumeric characters such as spaces, hyphens, periods, French characters, etc.

If you have not registered your account on the Self-Service Password portal please follow the
next steps in order to reset student passwords. If you have registered please scroll down to the
section “To Reset A Student’s Password”.

1. Go to https://cpass.pvnccdsb.on.ca
2. To register click on “My Account”

3. Log in with your PVNCCDSB username (excluding @pvnccdsb.on.ca)

4. Fill in the Answer fields. You can choose different questions from the pull-down menus

5. Enter either your cell phone number where you will receive text messages or enter a
personal email address in the Verification Contact field and click Register to receive a
Verification code.

6. Enter the verification code that is sent to your cell phone via text message or to your
personal email address that you provided in step #5 and click Confirm to complete the
registration process.

To Reset A Student’s Password

1. Go to the Self-Service Password Portal – https://cpass.pvnccdsb.on.ca
2. Click on “Forgot Password”

3. Enter your PVNCCDSB username (excluding @pvnccdsb.on.ca) and then click Enter.

4. Click “Reset Student Password”

5. You will be prompted to enter YOUR password first and then click Login.

6. You will then be prompted to enter the student’s username and select Enter.
Usernames/logins will be the first 4 letters of the last name, followed by the first four
letters of the first name and a randomly generated 2 digit number added to the end.

7. Enter the student’s NEW password twice then click “Submit”. Passwords must be a
minimum of 10 characters in length and must not be a password that was
previously used. Passwords must not include the user’s first name, last name or
username.

8. Click “Close” to finish.

Please note that there could be up to a 5 minute delay for the password sync to
happen before the new password change takes effect.
